The Great Kebab Factory, Hong Kong

Food: North Indian, Kebabs, Naan & Curries

Ambience: Spacious, big enough to host parties too, a pretty setting, and overall the ambience makes you feel warm.

Cost: Lunch buffet definitely very reasonable . Though a little pricey for dinners (approx. HK$250/person), especially, if you take the set and are people who like to try a lot of variety or have a good appetite.

Note: I've been to The Great Kebab Factory in Hong Kong a couple of times. I wasn't super excited about the lunch because it's got options, yes, a good selection of vegetarian ones too, though there's not a huge KEBAB selection during lunch time. Now dinner, that's a different story if you got for the 12 course tasting platter.. it's absolutely wonderful --lets talk about the vegetarian set. You get a huge variety of food. The best bit is that they give you a little portion of all the dishes offered in the set and then you can always ask for repetition. You also get Naan, salad, curries, and rice! ] I absolutely love their mushrooms and paneer tikka.. everything literally melts in your mouth. By the time, my husband and I were done with that.. we really didnt have much room for the Naan & curry --yet we did try some.. :). All the food was excellent! Very authentic Indian too! Preferably, make a reservation!

Zakuro, Tokyo, Japan

Having lived in Tokyo for about a year, we got to discover some delicious vegetarian places. Here are the ones I still miss.

Food: Iranian, Persian, Turkish and Uzbekistan style food (in other words, Parsi, so very similar to Indian food). They do speak English and understand the idea of vegetarian and they'll go out of the way to make you feel at home.

Ambience: Spacious, several room, all have carpet laid out, hookahs placed around, and wooden slabs put around. You set on the carpets.. you know cross leg types, and they sevre on the wood. It's nice!

Cost: Very reasonable, we went for lunch, took the course they had, it was 1000 yen for all you can eat.. rather as they call it, you'll not be able to finish the food they have serve, the quantity is so much and the variety too.

Note: It's a really nice place to go with a group of friends, chill out and enjoy. Belly dancing on Wednesdays and Friday evenings. Also, you can have flavoured hookahs. Interesting place. Preferable make a reservation!
